what i do

I work with adolescents, families, couples and adults. In addition to my experience in mental health treatment, I also have experience working with substance use disorders. For the last 5 years, my work has been mostly with adolescents and their families with high acuity mental health needs.

Soon, I will also be incorporating groups into my schedule.

While I do not provide pharmacological intervention, when needed I can collaborate with additional providers on your behalf who do so.

Payment

Payment for all services are due at the time of service and can be made by cash, check, and credit card. Telemental health services are billed at the same rate as in person sessions. I am not currently accepting insurance. HSA/FSA cards are also accepted. Prior to utilizing HSA/FSA cards, please first confirm that your sessions are covered. Depending on your insurance provider and plan, therapy may still be covered for either partial or all of the service cost after meeting your deductible. If you would like to submit a claim with your insurance company, I can provide you with a detailed bill of services that you can submit to your insurance company where you may be able to receive reimbursement for the cost of therapy services. Please contact your insurance provider directly to determine your specific benefits.

cancellation policy

I have a 24-hour cancellation policy. A full session charge will result when sessions are not cancelled with adequate notice.

Individual therapy

I offer individual therapy in person and through a telehealth platform. While in person is always recommended, telehealth can be very helpful during a busy work day, because it reduces the need for drive time and you can meet in the comfort of your own home or office. If you normally attend in person and are either ill or running behind, we can always switch the session to telehealth, which also offers greater flexibility for when life happens.

FamiLy and couples therapy

There is an analogy where you can view a family as a puzzle. When you work on just one puzzle piece (self) refining and reshaping it, then try to connect it back together with the other puzzle pieces, it will no longer fit if the other puzzle pieces are not also doing the work. Couple and family work is just as important as the work done individually.

Group therapy

There is great value in group therapy and being able to process with peers who are experiencing similar struggles. Mental health can often create a feeling of being alone. This is especially true for adolescents. Once there is enough interest, I will begin adding group times to my schedule. If you are seeking a group, please call and I will add your contact information to a list.
