Hi, I’m Kait.

I have a Bachelor’s Degree from SUNY Geneseo and I dual majored in Psychology and Sociology. I then moved on to The University at Buffalo where I received my Master’s in Social Work. The UB School of Social Work is recognized for their accreditation in Trauma Informed Care.

I have experience in a variety of settings including outpatient, partial hospitalization, inpatient, and residential. I have worked both as a clinician and as a supervisor. My true passion is working with individuals and families and my journey has led me back to the work I love most.

If you’re curious about the lotus flower, it is symbolic across many cultures for rebirth, self-regeneration, and enlightenment.

“Just like the Lotus, we too have the ability to rise from the mud, bloom out of the darkness, and radiate into the world”.

My approach

I utilize a variety of therapeutic approaches when working with my clients. There is no cookie cutter approach and it is always individualized based on someones need. However, I do heavily focus on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. We reflect on how our thinking impacts how we feel and what we do and how we can improve distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness skills.

“If nothing changes; nothing changes.”

Therapy takes work. True growth does not occur in the office. Instead, it comes from what you do when you step outside of the office. The definition of insanity is continuing to do the same thing and expecting different results. As your therapist, we look at ways to make changes, whether subtle or major, that can help improve ones quality of life, happiness, and inner peace. This often includes understanding the mind and body connection. It is just as important to fuel the mind as it is to fuel the body.
